SOLD 1940's Carved Onyx + Silver Bracelet
Mexican Vintage Jewellery
1940's
Unique and full of theatre, this unusual handcrafted vintage bracelet was hand crafted in Mexico in the 1940's. Geometrically carved, glittering onyx faces are tribal inspired (the pre-columbian theme a popular inspiration for jewellery at the time) and are bezel set into five ornate sterling silver links, each decorated with nouveau curls and repoussé balls. Joined by two handcrafted jump rings and clasps with a simple j-clasp, this bracelet is both decorative and prominent - and will work art deco wonders on your wrist.

About this Piece
Sterling Silver
Sterling is an alloy of silver containing at least 92.5% pure silver (925 parts of 1000 thus the 925 stamp), the remainder is made up of a mix of metals (most commonly copper) used to make the metal workable. Pure silver is generally considered too soft to work with, although you can find silver jewellery at 950 or 980, even the occasional 99.9% fine silver, which can be work-hardened to increase durability.
